We have a permanent display set up in the fishing end with lots of artefacts, some centuries old. We hold a large amount of data and photographs digitally on the computers.

There is also a reading area in the room for anyone wanting time for a bit of quiet research.

Our timeline details from when fishing records began around the Hanseatic League times to modern day fishing.  Showing the developing fishing industry of local boats from sixereens to whitefish and pelagic boats, including the gutting years and fish factories.

Our current exhibition is on life in Whalsay during the 1950s and 60s.

All the information and photographs from previous exhibitions is still available in folders, ask a member of staff if there is anything of particular interest you wish to see
