Covid 19 Update

We regret that the Whalsay Heritage Centre shall not be opening to visitors this summer (2020) because of Covid 19. We don't have the space for safe social distancing and many of our volunteer staff are in the high risk group. We wouldn't want to put them, or visitors, in any danger at this stage. Thank you for your support in the past and we hope everything will be back to normal for next year.

We Welcome Wool Week

Whalsay welcomes wool week.  We are open every afternoon during Wool Week.  Come and browse our knitting collections, memorabilia, booklets and books.  Self service tea and coffee is available.

50s and 60s exibit

Still time to see the current exhibition on life in Whalsay during the 1950s and 60s

Other exhibitions

We have our WW1 display up until 2018 over the centenary of WW1. Our Fishing and Lairds exhibitions are permanently on view due to their great local interest and the many artefacts we hold and display.
