HANDED DOWN STORIES

Below are recordings from the Handed Down Stories book. The book was made by a group of Whalsay Secondary school children as part of their Wider Achievement project 2025. It is available at the Whalsay Heritage & Community Centre for £10.

The children would like to thank volunteers Marina Irvine, Alison Simpson and Anne Huntley for telling them these stories.

Please visit for more information on these and other stories.
